Commentary
For the publication of Texts 1 and 2, Latyshev used two transcriptions: that of Bertye-Delagard (p. 48) and that of Kulakovsky (p. 125); he did not offer a reading for Text 3. A photograph of 1930s is preserved in Photo Archive, Institute for History of Material Culture, Russian Academy of Sciences (О.267.15; II–1192, kindly pointed out to me by S.V. Kharitonov). On the architectural context, see Veymarn, Choref 1978, 147, fig. 7.1; Mogarichev 1997, 33, fig. 117.
On the formula, see Introduction IV.3.C.e.
1–2. On the formula, see Introduction IV.3.E.a.
2. A widely known Christian name Blasios is not otherwise attested in inscriptions of the Northern Black Sea region; what followed was probably a family name or nickname.
1. IV.3.E.a. The name Sophronios is also known from V 218.
2. ἱστῶσα is a late form.
